I got accepted to the Virginia Tax Review yesterday! It's ranked in the top tax journals and is often cited in Law Reviews, so hurrah! We had a welcome reception tonight at Buddhist Biker Bar with food and an open bar.
I feel immense relief. The competition for everything here is so intense, and actually succeeding relative to so many gifted and hardworking people is huge.

Keg Race Against Section F 2005
On Thursday, we had a section mixer keg race with Section F at someone's house before Bar Review last night. I actually love Section F. BF= BF. I did however get pretty competitive about this keg race because 1) they already beat us at softball, and 2) I talk to them a lot so I anticipated a lot of smack talk if they won. Alas, every last person in their section came and partied and they beat us. At least they're awesome.
After the section mixer/keg race/ pre-party was over we joined other law students at the bar review at Starr Hill bar.
Tiffany, Kathy, Brian and I wandered away on the corner and ended up joining some other people at Buddhist Biker Bar.

Akure's 22nd Birthday 2005
For Akure's birthday, Saturday night we got her a cake and pre-partied at her apartment. Afterwards, we went out to Buddhist Biker Bar, where as usual most of the law students were hanging out.

B-E-D Section Mixer 2005
Last night we had a section-mixer party for sections B-D-E, which we rearranged into a "B-E-D" party wherein some people wore pajamas and robes and whatnot. Also somewhat inexplicably, but awesomely, there was an ice luge.
Afterwards, a bunch of us went to the law school bar review. Bar review is one night each week the law school picks a bar and we go to it in mass. This week we went to Buddhist Biker Bar because they tolerate us reasonably well and they have an outdoor area.
